CHALLENGE

Beardwood&Co. is a boutique brand design firm with a strong desire to step out of the traditional agency model and evolve into a small (but mighty) firm that focuses on innovation and values high level design and strategy. The firm’s ability to deliver beyond expectations earned them respect and repeat business, but needed more opportunities to do better, smarter work with a wider array of clients. But, before they could do this, they needed to take a deep dive into what their unique proposition was and how to describe it.

SOLUTION

KalvinPR began by conducting a deep dive into their business and how all stakeholders, including clients, prospects and employees perceived them. We created a positioning/messaging grid that is benefit driven and offers a window into the soul of the company, thus giving them their own special personality. The language informs every touchpoint including their website, story and social media channels. Then, we got busy getting the word out by promoting their design work from Honest Fizz to Climax Moonshine and Pinch Provisions through trend stories and articles in business outlets including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times as well as major branding, marketing and package design trades such as Adweek, Shelf Impact and The DieLine. The firm has grown out of its original space and recently moved to larger headquarters in Soho where it has expanded its offering and is working with clients such as Sperry Top-Sider and Colgate-Palmolive.
